This video from Arbio, the Association for the Forest Resilience to the Inter-Oceanic Highway in Peru, uses the sounds of deforestation to drive home an important message of the need to keep forests standing. The Amazon is the world’s largest tropical forest and houses over a quarter of all species on Earth in addition to producing twenty percent of the oxygen we breathe day. The trees alone in this great forest system store nearly 11 years of annual global carbon emissions. With each tree cut down, the stored carbon is released right back into the atmosphere contributing to the effects of climate change.

Watch below and then learn how Amazon Aid keeps trees in the Amazon standing with Acre Care.
