ARTIST FOR THE AMAZON

Testimonial

For nearly a decade now, I’ve focused on communicating environmental stories using a variety of mediums. It is through this experience that I’ve learnt to appreciate and care for our planet: towered upon by the tallest of trees, wading through creeks under moonlit nights, and diving into the depths of our oceans. The natural world matters to me in ways that nothing else does.

It was in 2018 that I had the opportunity to spend three months in the Peruvian Amazon, as a multimedia instructor at the Manu Learning Centre. The forests were breathtaking at the very least! No number of treks into it would ever be enough to fathom the world of flora and fauna that lies within. But, what was most fascinating to me was that, the more time I spent amidst these dense forests, the more similarities I found with the forests back in India, my home on the other side of this world.

I am eager to take that initial exploration forward, more so to emphasize the interconnectedness within the planet we inhabit, where the other side of the world isn’t as far as it sounds and every individual action has a consequence far beyond local geographical boundaries.
